Conversations on Life and Death

A project that started in Lockdown and has become a big part of our work.

It started on Zoom and has ended with the Magic Video Box

During Lockdown, at Flexible Films we wanted to make a difference and to use our time productively so we posed questions for people to contemplate on. It was interesting to think of different topics that were meaningful to discuss. We caught the attention of Gideon Reeling Theatre Company and artist Jo Dagless who liked our final topic on life and death. Together we decided to work on Conversations on Life and Death. The seed of the project started with Kate Hargreaves's poem, which focuses on our finite lives. We then had  Zoom conversations on the topic with a number of people and edited them into 4-6 minute films. Here are some of these below.  So far, we have had more than 25 conversations and will publish all these. We  plan on continuing having more conversations using our Magic Video Box, which is proving to be a perfect tool for these discussions. We have learnt that people talk openly and naturally with the MVB and discussing a challenging subject such as death is made easier.
